Mark Raymond Jr., became a C-5 quadriplegic on July 4, 2016, after a freak diving incident into shallow water while boating with friends.
In 2018, Raymond founded The Split Second Foundation a non-profit organization dedicated to finding advanced treatments for spinal cord injury (SCI) committed to funding research to find a cure for SCI and advocating for more progressive therapies in the community.
On Friday, June 28 the Split Second Foundation (SSF) will hold its second annual “Dependence Day” fundraising event to celebrate the anniversary of his accident and all individuals who have lost their independence due to spinal cord injuries (SCI) and other forms of paralysis.
