Split Second Members Go Water-Skiing

Non profit Ski-Dawgs Helps Disabled People Enjoy Water Sports
The dog days of summer have a new meaning at Split Second Fitness (SSF) thanks to Ski-Dawgs, a nonprofit adaptive water ski clinic. Ski-Dawgs, which is located in Bush, Louisiana, specializes in adaptive water skiing for most people with disabilities, including paraplegics and amputees or those who have spina bifida.
SSF Director Quanteria “Q” Williams-Porché had heard of the organization, and thought it would be a great opportunity to get some of our community members out on the water for some skiing fun. Not surprisingly, Ray “Speedy” Walker immediately wanted to go and he went out recently with another Split Second member. Not much later, a second group, including Sonya, Desmond and Split Second Foundation Board Member Nelita Manego Ramey, made the trip to Bush.
Q reports that everyone had a blast, and the dog days of summer have become a little less hot, wetter and a lot more fun.
